My five minutes of fame in ‘La Provence’, 20th August 2016

3-2

It’s not everyday you get a spontaneous email from a journalist asking for an interview. Especially not in ‘la Provence’. But guess what ? The Unexpected happened ! Yesss ! Happy Me ! 🙂

THE approach

‘Bonjour, journaliste au quotidien régional “La Provence”, je travaille à Carpentras. J’ai découvert votre blog et vos très belles photos. Aussi, je souhaite vous interviewer afin que vous me parliez de votre démarche artistique et de la façon dont vous avez “vécu” votre séjour carpentrassien. Vous pouvez m’indiquer votre numéro de téléphone et me préciser à quelle heure je peux vous appeler. Merci. Cordialement’

Let me translate that into English for you… 🙂

‘Hello, journalist for the regional daily newspaper “La Provence”, I work in Carpentras. I discovered your blog and your beautiful photos. Also, I would like to interview you so you can tell me all about your artistic approach and how you have “experienced” your stay in the Carpentras area. Would you be so kind to give me your phone number and tell me what time I can call you. Thank you. Cordially’

The Office of ‘La Provence’ in Carpentras

103-2

The appointment was set for Thursday morning, 18th August 2016, 10.45am. And off I went. A bit nervous because I didn’t know what to expect but I took my usual (over) enthusiastic ‘me’ along and what a beautiful morning it ended up to be. Carpentras was gorgeous as ever, with beautiful blue skies, slowly waking up. That’s when I find cities to be at their best. And it was not different that Thursday ♥

Christine Blanc, the journalist

Oh, this lady is something else ! She couldn’t be more typical ‘Provençale‘ with her lovely local accent, colorful outfit and accessories. From the moment I walked in she immediately caught my eye. I went to sit down at her desk and it was as if we had known each other for years. She made me feel so comfortable. Just imagine what kind of interview it turned out to be. Two passionates at one table. A glass / bottle of wine was all we missed, really, but hey, she was ‘on duty’ so that was a no-go… 😉

5-2
After one and a half hour I left the office, quite satisfied but also nervous. Did she get all the information right ? I mean, you talk about situations, people etc. etc. but boy oh boy, what a remarkable result !
She didn’t miss a tiny inch of all the provided information and was able to write it down in a very charming and POSITIVE way.

The Article

The article was promised for the Saturday edition of 20-21 August 2016. That day me and my husband went for a morning walk and decided to head ‘downtown’ to get the paper. Hmmm, what page would it be on ? It will probably be in a tiny corner somewhere on the very last page…NOT ! Nervous as two little kids, we opened the newspaper and my heart melted. Such a beautiful and long article. Almost an entire page !
Thank you Christine for your genuine interest in my blog ♥

2-2

You will never be as enthusiastic as me about this blogpost but that’s ok. I share stories about and for many other people around me so I allowed myself this once to share something about myself for a change. Hope you enjoyed my ‘five minutes of fame’… I certainly did and still DO 🙂

Oh Indra, How nice is that 🙂
You can be proud, and it is so true!
Enjoy your stay in the Provence and let us do a good wine in Amersfoort this autumn / winter.

Isn’t it! Hahahaha! 🙂 Another dream come true! I would love to do a good (bottle :)) of wine with you but that will have to wait a year since we do a winter try-out here this year. Just to see how it is and whether we can cope with the so-called boring winter months. Tx for your sweet reaction and have a great working week! 🙂

Ravi pour vous, Indra. Je connais un tout petit peu Christine Blanc, c’est un personnage, une provençale pur jus en effet. ^^ Bonne continuation et longue vie au blog!
