A village house in Provence, something completely different if you ask us! We personally prefer to live as remote as possible in the peace and quiet of the countryside but just as people differ, also tastes differ. And that is exactly why Belgian owners Marnik & Els chose to do otherwise and offer a beautiful old 3-story Provencal stone house, recently bought and lovingly updated. It offers sleeping and living space for maximum 4 people. Ideal for visitors who want to feel the pulse of village life. Set in the heart of Côte du Rhône wine country, Bédoin is a lively village uniquely located for well trained (or not so well trained 🙂 ) cyclists to access the famous Mont Ventoux and many other attractions and delights of the Vaucluse region of Provence!
Target audience
Ideal for city slickers, elderly or anyone who loves to visit Provence without being isolated in the countryside. Excellent for visitors who e.g. cannot drive a car. Everything is simply close by. The moment you step out of the house, all city facilities are basically within walking distance. Cafés, bistrots, supermarket, money machine, boulangerie, ‘bar tabac’…you name it, nothing is more than a few steps away. In summertime you can even go for a swim in the well-kept public pool of Bédoin at approximately 300m!
But, as you can see on the pictures, I do guess you have to be a bit of a bike enthusiast too because basically everything evolves around cycling here in Bédoin!
Terrace with a View
Let’s start on top, with the terrace, to me THE highlight of this lovely village house! I could just sit here for hours and hours reading a book with … of course … a good glass of wine 🙂 Simply Amazing!
A shaded terrace is created with fine views of clay-tiled rooftops, the beautiful church of Bédoin, and the dramatic limestone ridges of the Mont Ventoux. A square table and chairs invite “al fresco” dining and also a nice big BBQ is provided. For relaxing or reading, there is a comfortable daybed with cushions and a blanket for colder moments. This terrace provides shelter from the hot mid-day sun, as well as protection from winds or occasional rain, enabling guests to spend even more time enjoying the views…And the views are AWESOME!
Let’s go inside
Throughout the house you will feel its special warmth and character. The house is spacious and inviting, providing an unusual degree of privacy with separate areas on each floor. You can feel the owners’ enthusiasm for perfect workmanship and homemade crafts. Handsome antiques, shabby chic “finds” and quality reproductions are placed throughout the house. The owners have taken special care to add modern comforts, while sacrificing none of the house’s Provençal charm.
Cook and dine
Upon entering the house there is a cosy dining area with great character and Provençal charm. The kitchen is well-designed and equipped for preparing a gourmet meal or a casual picnic to be enjoyed on the terrace upstairs. A handsome antique farm table seats 4. Colorful pottery and accessories are provided for cooking and serving. Please do click on each image to enlarge…
Sleep and shower
During your well deserved holiday you may not get the sleep you longed for but just in case you do catch a few zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s, here are the two twin bedrooms with separate bathroom.
Contact information
What you saw / read here was of course simply a first impression. I can imagine you might have many more questions and that’s where the charming Belgian owners Marnik & Els come in. Feel free to mail or phone them, they are more than willing to help you in 3 different languages (Dutch, French, English). Also handy to know. They live right around the corner of their village house so any problem you might run into during your stay, they are always on the spot to help you out!

Quanta costa ?
PRICE PER WEEK in 2016 = 550 euro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is only 137,50€ per person in case you go with 4 people, which is the maximum occupancy for this house.
Now tell me again you cannot afford to spend your holiday in Provence… 🙂
