Hôtel Le Jas de Gordes is located 1,5 km from Gordes in a private, shady park surrounded by typical Mediterranean plants and flowers. The traveller will find an authentic and perfectly integrated setting in this beautiful region of the Luberon: magnificent gardens, heated swimming pool and remarkable outdoor living rooms. A beautiful stone farmhouse well equipped, well renovated and a friendly team for a lovely stay. And last but not least, your pets are very welcome!

Welcome!
Upon arrival you immediately feel the sophistication. You are seduced by the central bastide which is very well-maintained and ultra modern without losing its true Provencal feel. You can enjoy a drink or your apéro on the charming patio area, which is also accessible for non-hotel guests.

The Meaning of ‘Jas’
The French term “jas”, referring to a covered shelter for herds of goats and sheep in Provence, corresponds to the Occitan jaç (male), derived from the lower latin “jacium”, a word referring to the “gîte”, i. e. the “place where one lies”. In the Southern Alps (Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) and in Lower Provence (including Comtat Venaissin), the word has been used since the Middle Ages.

The Pool & its Lovely surroundings
In this small Provencal paradise, the pool area is a real haven of Peace. The highlight in low season, or any chilly day for that matter, is the fact that the pool is heated to a nice lukewarm 27C! A variety of resting areas on the edge of the swimming pool allow everyone to be as isolated as they wish. Please do click on each image to see enlarged…
Some impressions of the Luxury rooms
The interior decoration is remarkable. The rooms are large and updated, very cosy, well arranged and decorated with great taste. Do take a look on their website which you can find a the end of this article for more and other options!
Breakfast Time!
As from 7.30am till 10.30am you can enjoy a hearty and tasty breakfast (fresh brioches, pancakes, fruit,…) in the recently renovated breakfast room or outside on the lovely patio. The buffet has a wide choice and is copious. With the multiple nationalities staying in this hotel, I’d say there is simply something for everyone!

Having a Wedding planned ?
No worries then! The hotel will make sure your invitees will have the best stay of their lives, you can hire me as your photographer and the amazingly beautiful church in Gordes will make sure you say that magical Yessssss I Dooooooo!

Gordes
Gordes is a beautiful medieval village in the Luberon and a mere 10 minute walk from the hotel. The obviously strategic site where Gordes sits has been occupied since prehistoric times. The stone buildings were built against the base of the cliffs and spiral up around the rock to the top where the château was built with a panoramic view over fields and forests and small perched villages.
The village’s setting is striking and lots of tourists come to visit in the summer. Gordes is classified as one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, literally translated, one of the most beautiful villages of France. Gordes is one of 156 French villages with that classification. It is said to be the #1 tourist attraction in the Luberon!
To End with a gorgeous Sunset
This was by far the most beautiful spot I have worked at so far! And at the end of each workday, driving home from Gordes to Venasque, I had the honor to admire this amazing sunset. And then you realize that the world you see comes from within you, and everything else falls into place ♥
